No, the Princess did not go platinum blonde, but it certainly looks like she lightened up her signature brunette hair color for the spring season. The fresh color popped up when Middleton and Prince William traveled to Scotland to celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary and fulfill some royal duties. She wore her hair down and loose in a soft blowout style, which was lovely, but it was the color that really caught our attention. It's not blonde, per se, but it's definitely lighter—basically, Middleton's new shade is the ideal definition of bronde, or a fusion of brown and blonde.
Even princesses can't resist the eternal urge to bleach your hair when the weather warms up! Middleton stuck to her trademark warm tones, lightening her brunette base just a level or two for a subtle enhancement—not quite honey or wheat blonde, but rather a glimmering hint of gold that catches the light beautifully. True to form, the Princess of Wales kept her makeup soft and delicate, with a peachy-rose shade on her cheeks and lips.
Middleton has dabbled in lighter, blonder tones before, but it's been awhile. She had fun with the color in 2019, starting with caramel highlights and then lightening up again with a gold-honey glaze. In summer 2020, she showed off chunky bronde highlights.
