Don't ever let anyone tell you that changing just one little thing can't completely transform your look. In the grand scheme of beauty—makeup, hair, nails, the entire body as a potential canvas—eyebrows take up barely any real estate, but as Jenna Ortega is proving, even when nothing else about your appearance strays from your signature style, bleaching your brows can make you look like a different person.
Ortega made an appearance at CinemaCon 2025 in Las Vegas on Tuesday, April 1, wearing a lavender blazer, matching suede shorts and satin platforms, and a silk blouse—all by Versace. Her shiny, black cherry hair is still going strong, but her brows aren't nearly as dark.
The Death of a Unicorn star appears to have bleached her eyebrows, though perhaps she didn't keep the bleach on as long as those who emerge with nearly invisible, platinum brows. Instead, her brows are now a shade of warm bronde—much lighter than they've ever been, but still visible. The result feels edgy but not severe.
“Jenna's Versace look for CinemaCon gave me very '70s vibes, so I pulled some images of Faye Dunaway from that time period,” makeup artist Vincent Oquendo tells Allure. “The most important thing that I did for this look was use a cream bleach for her eyebrows and then tone them using a leave-in conditioner and toner. This helps take out any brassiness in the eyebrow coloring.” He then used Diorshow Brow Styler in Blonde to get a taupe color on her brows for added definition and depth.

Ortega is not the first celebrity to bleach her brows this year. Both Miley Cyrus and Michelle Yeoh went from brunette to blonde—at least on their foreheads—just last month. They say three makes a trend, so we may be watching a major spring or summer beauty craze kicking off here.
It's April Fools' Day, sure, but we have a feeling these brows are no joke. If anything, they may be related to one of the many upcoming projects Ortega is said to be working on. That said, you really don't need a reason to change things up, and considering it's relatively easy to dye brows back to a darker color, you really don't have an excuse not to experiment if you feel like it.
