Do me a favor and google “Anne Hathaway ponytail.” (Do it in another tab—I don't want to lose you.) OK, now google “Anne Hathaway updo.” Notice a pattern? The Oscar winner has pretty much never opted for a severe style when putting her hair up. Her face is often framed by tendrils or topped off with bangs; even when her hair is totally pulled off of her face, the vibes are soft. But as they say, it's a woman's prerogative to change her mind—or in this case, hair—and she has shown she's ready for a tight new take on ponytails.
Hathaway sat front row at the Ralph Lauren Collection Fall 2025 fashion show with other celebrities like Michelle Williams and Naomi Watts, all of whom wore shades of beige, brown, and taupe. Hathaway, in particular, was sporting sparkly, ripped pants, a white tee, and a khaki trench coat, topped off with a gold choker and hoop earrings.
And the view of those hoop earrings wasn't the least bit obscured thanks to a ponytail so tight, Hathaway's temples were basically defying gravity. Her glossy, brunette hair has been pulled up sleekly and gathered high on her head. It's wrapped in hair at the base—no visible elastic here—and the ponytail itself flowed in the loosest of waves to her mid-back.
Hathaway's makeup kept with the neutral tones of the apparel, with rosy-brown lips and a cooler brown shadow that swept upward at the same angle as her ponytail.
If she's anything like me (which would honestly shock me), Hathaway will take down her ponytail the moment she gets home—I personally can't tolerate a super-tight style for too long. But one thing's for sure: It was gorgeous while it lasted.
